Segmenting Customers from Child Organizations (Klaviyo Integration)

Merchants can now create customer segments that distinguish between native customers and customers created from Child Organizations (such as resellers). This enables more precise targeting in Klaviyo flows and campaigns, allowing you to tailor messaging based on where customers originated.


Why This Matters

With this enhancement, merchants can:

  • Send campaigns only to native customers.
  • Include or exclude customers from specific resellers or child organizations.
  • Build more targeted Klaviyo flows for onboarding, promotions, winbacks, and subscriptions.
  • This ensures the right message reaches the right audience—without overlap or confusion.

New Customer Attributes Sent to Klaviyo

We’ve added new customer tags/attributes that are automatically passed to Klaviyo. These attributes can be used to create powerful segments in multiple ways.

Available Attributes

  1. Child Organization Indicator
    • $IsChildOrgCustomer
      • True → Customer was created from a Child Organization (e.g., reseller)
      • False → Native customer
  2. Organization Name
    • $OrgName
      • Displays the Reseller or Child Organization name associated with the customer
  3. Organization Domain
    • Domain
      • Displays the Reseller’s page tied to the customer when the Active on Site even is triggered.

How to Use These Attributes in Klaviyo

Segment by Native vs. Reseller Customers

  • Option 1: Create a segment using and Event - “What someone has done (or not done)”
    • Using Active on Site Event and filter using:
      • where: page 
      • equals: select the reseller domain or page (example: https://reseller.getprado.com/)
  • Option 2: Create a segment using using an profile metric - “Properties about someone”
    • $IsChildOrgCustomer = Is True
  • Option 3: Create a segment using using an profile metric - “Properties about someone”
    • $OrgName = Reseller Name 

Example Use Cases

  • Send a promotion campaign only to native customers while excluding reseller customers.
  • Create a custom onboarding flow for customers coming from a specific reseller partner.
  • Run a subscription winback campaign tailored only to child organization customers.

Tip: Use $IsChildOrgCustomer as your primary filter, then layer $OrgName or Domain for more granular targeting when managing multiple reseller partners.
