How does the Parsely integration work?

Parsley Software is a culinary management software solution designed for the food service industry. It's a web application that helps with various tasks, including recipe management, cost control, production planning, and generating nutrition facts. Essentially, it's a platform for chefs and restaurant owners to streamline their back-of-house operations and enhance accuracy.

How to set up your Parsley with Prado

1. Identify your Parsley API key in Parsley. First, go to Settings:

2. Scroll down to the API Keys section of the Parsley settings

3. Copy the whole API key and switch to your Prado site

4. Within your Prado Admin2 interface, go to Settings > Integration Settings, hit the Edit Settings button and paste your Parsley API Key into the box

How to export your To Make production report from Prado to Parsley

  1. Go Admin2 > Production > To Make
  2. Modify the Fulfillment Date ranges and other filters as needed to select what you're interested in exporting to Parsley and confirm the right Products are listed
  3. Hit the Parsley button at the top right corner

4. Assuming all Products and Modifiers are matched, you should see a Success popup toast

5. In Parsley, go to Plans & Purchasing tab and you should have a new Upcoming report labeled "To Make for [Date - Date]

6. Clicking into this To Make report should list the associated Recipes and give you a number of options. The one we're interested in is “Print Production Plans” in the Print dropdown at the top right

7. This brings up an interface offering various options on what to include in the report

8. Upon continuing and confirming the final “Print” option, you should get an impressive preview of the detailed Parsley To Make report, including detailed ingredient breakdowns and cooking instructions (assuming these have been populated to Parsley)

How to match Prado Products and Modifiers to Parsley Recipes

  1. You may have noticed that generating a report without first configuring the Products, Modifiers and Parsley Recipes results in display like;

2. This will also result in Parsley creating  a “Partial” To Make Report with any items that were configured properly, which look like this in Parsley

3. Obviously this is to be avoided if possible, by linking all items in the order to matching Parsley Recipes. This is done by putting the Prado UPC or SKU for a Product or Modifier in the Parsley Recipe's Item ID field:

4. On the Prado side, make sure the Products UPC or SKU reflects this ID

This is just as important for Modifiers, which can have an SKU added in the Edit Modifier page in Settings > Modifiers
