Viewing Customer Survey Responses in Admin

Overview

You can now view customer survey responses directly within your Admin portal — no more exporting data to find what a customer said. Survey responses are displayed alongside customer details, giving you quick access to valuable customer-submitted information right where you need it.

Who Can Use This Feature

This feature is available to all users with access to the Admin portal, including:

  • Merchants and store operators
  • Customer support teams
  • Account managers

No additional permissions or setup are required.

How It Works

When a customer completes a survey as part of their first order, their response is now automatically linked to their customer profile in Admin. You can view this information in two places:

  • Customer Details Page — See survey responses when viewing an individual customer's profile.
  • New Customer List — Quickly scan survey responses across your newest customers without opening each profile individually.

Survey responses appear in a clear, readable format alongside other relevant customer information like attribution source.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Viewing a Survey Response on the Customer Details Page

  1. Log in to your Admin portal.
  2. Navigate to Customers.
  3. Search for or select the customer you'd like to review.
  4. On the Customer Details page, locate the Survey Response (First Order) tile — it appears near the "Attribution Source" section.
  5. The customer's survey response will be displayed directly on the page.

Viewing Survey Responses in the New Customer List

  1. Log in to your Admin portal.
  2. Navigate to the New Customer List.
  3. Survey responses are displayed as a column or data point alongside each new customer entry.
  4. Scan the list to quickly review responses without needing to open individual customer profiles.

Expected Results

  • Survey responses appear instantly on the Customer Details page — no loading or exporting required.
  • The New Customer List displays survey response data inline for easy scanning.
  • If a customer has not completed a survey, the field will be blank or display no response.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Which survey response is shown — the most recent or the first?

  • The system displays the survey response associated with the customer's first order.

What if a customer hasn't completed a survey?

  • The survey response field will appear blank. This is normal for customers who skipped the survey or placed orders before the survey was introduced.

Can I still export survey responses?

  • Yes. The Orders Export continues to include survey response data as before. This update simply adds a more convenient way to view responses without exporting.

Can I edit or delete a customer's survey response from Admin?

  • No. Survey responses are read-only in Admin. They reflect exactly what the customer submitted.

Will responses for future orders also appear?

  • Currently, the feature displays the survey response from the customer's first order. Responses from subsequent orders remain available through the Orders Export.

Ensure you're viewing the full details page (not a summary view). Try refreshing your browser.

Survey data doesn't match what I see in the export

The Details page shows the first order's response specifically. The export may include responses from multiple orders.

Additional Notes & Best Practices

  • Use survey responses to personalize outreach. Quickly reference how a customer heard about you or what preferences they indicated before reaching out.
  • Combine with the New Customer List to spot trends among incoming customers (e.g., common referral sources or preferences).
  • No action is needed to enable this feature — survey responses will appear automatically for customers who have completed one.
