How to Add a Chat Widget to Your Website

Merchants can add a chat widget to their website that connects directly to their CRM or customer support chat platform (such as Intercom, Zendesk, HubSpot, or similar tools). This allows customers to chat with your team in real time while browsing your site.


Before You Begin

You will need:

  • An active account with your CRM or chat provider
  • The embed script code provided by your chat platform

This script is usually found in your chat provider’s installation or setup instructions.


Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Log in to Prado Admin Classic.
  2. Go to Marketing → Page Template → Properties.
  3. Click Update Properties.
  4. Locate the field labeled Embedded Script Contents – Head Tag.
  5. Paste your chat widget embed script into this field.
  6. Click Save.


Confirm the Chat Widget Is Live

After saving:

  1. Open your website in a new browser tab.
  2. Refresh the page.

You should see your chat widget appear (usually in the bottom corner of the site).


Important Notes

  • The script will load on all pages of your website.
  • Prado does not manage or customize the chat widget itself—this is controlled by your CRM or chat platform.
  • If the widget does not appear:
    • Double-check that the embed script was copied correctly
    • Ensure your chat provider account is active

Best Practices

✅ Test the widget in an incognito or private browser window
✅ Make sure your support hours are configured in your chat platform
✅ Use a short welcome message to guide customers (for example: “Hi! Need help placing an order?”)
