Understanding the "Active Customer" Status on Your Customer & Patient Lists

Discover essential insights and strategies to enhance your knowledge base for improved learning and efficiency.

Overview

Your Customer List and Patient List now include a new Active Customer column, giving you a clearer picture of which customers are actively engaged — whether through a subscription or recent one-time purchases. This replaces the previous "Active Subscription" indicator with a more comprehensive view of customer activity.

What Are the Active Customer Statuses?

Each customer is assigned one of three statuses:

  • Active Sub — The customer has at least one active subscription (not paused or cancelled).
  • Active One-Time Order — The customer does not have an active subscription but has placed at least one one-time order within the last 30 days.
  • Inactive — The customer has no active subscriptions and has not placed a one-time order in the last 30 days.

Note: If a customer qualifies for more than one status, Active Sub always takes priority. For example, a customer with both an active subscription and a recent one-time order will show as "Active Sub."

Where Can I See This?

The Active Customer column is available on both:

  • Customer List
  • Patient List (for reseller and provider views)

How to Filter and Sort by Active Customer Status

You can use the Active Customer column to quickly segment your list:

  • Filter — Use the dropdown filter on the column to show only customers with a specific status (e.g., show only "Inactive" customers to target for re-engagement).
  • Sort — Click the column header to sort your list by status, making it easy to group active and inactive customers together.

How Are Statuses Determined?

Statuses are calculated dynamically in real time — they are not static snapshots. This means:

  • As soon as a customer activates, pauses, or cancels a subscription, their status updates automatically.
  • One-time order activity is evaluated on a rolling 30-day window, so statuses will refresh as orders age past 30 days.

Quick Reference: Status Definitions

You can also view these definitions directly in the app by hovering over the info icon (ℹ️) in the Active Customer column header.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: A customer has both an active subscription and a recent one-time order. Which status do they get?
They will show as Active Sub. Subscription status always takes priority.

Q: How far back does "recent order" look?,
The system checks for one-time orders placed within the last 30 days on a rolling basis.

Q: Does this apply to paused subscriptions?
No. A paused subscription is not considered active. If the customer has no other active subscriptions and no recent one-time orders, they will be marked as Inactive.
